Marlborough Region is situated on the north-eastern corner of the South Island, due west of Wellington. Visitors may fly direct to Blenheim, Marlborough's main town, or take the ferries from Wellington to Picton, the local port in Queen Charlotte Sound.

Main Centres
Blenheim - the main town of Marlborough and a central base for vineyard visits. Picton - Marlborough's main commercial port and access to Queen Charlotte Sound. Havelock - the gateway to the Kenepuru and Pelorus Sounds. Green Lip Mussel Capital, a great spot to stop for lunch or dinner.
Havelock is situated on the Treasured Pathway; a heritage driving route that links historical sites along 680 kilometres of roads from Picton in the Marlborough region to Farewell Spit in the Nelson region.

Marlborough Walks & Tracks
There are many short and longer bush walks in the Malborough Sounds and Mount Richmond Forest park.
Stretching between the Queen Charlotte and Kenepuru Sound is the Queen Charlotte Track. A 71km track renowned for its stunning views and contrasting landscape, one of New Zealand's best coastal walks.
Kaikoura
1.5 hours South, driving along the Kaikoura coastline with dramatic views of rugged mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Kaikoura is famous for whale watching tours and if you haven't tried crayfish (New Zealand rock lobster) yet, you won't find a better place.
