We are Marlborough people, as were our parents and have never felt the need to move out of the province.
In 1990 we decided to take the plunge and purchase a lifestyle block, our two daughters Leanne & Dionne had fled the nest Leanne to attend university and Dionne to further her sporting career in Christchurch. We purchased a 25 acre block and by 2001 planted 17 acres of grapes for wine. It was a great lifestyle but very busy summers.
In 2006 we decided it was time for a change. We were not quite ready to move into town and were fortunate enough to find this 3½ acre block which has the most magnificent views.
Mike who is a builder (which he also continued to do while on the vineyard) then set to and built our home. We went to the architect and said we wanted a one room long home so that every room had a view as we had no restriction as to how long the house was. Plans in hand away Mike went and we moved in July 2007.
As the home was built to accommodate our children and grandchildren we have plenty of room. After having some relatives of relatives from England stay we enjoyed the experience and thought why not do Bed & Breakfast.
We enjoy meeting people and love to share our home in such a great place. We are also happy to share our two dogs Savvy (Buff colour American Cocker Spaniel) and Pinot (Ruby colour King Charles Cavalier). Very friendly little fellas that love company.
